{"id":450,"date":"2019-11-28T19:03:21","date_gmt":"2019-11-28T19:03:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/suyin-liang.com\/art3\/?page_id=450"},"modified":"2023-04-25T19:11:19","modified_gmt":"2023-04-25T19:11:19","slug":"admissions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/art.ccny.cuny.edu\/art_history\/admissions\/","title":{"rendered":"admissions"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Requirements for admission to the MA program in Art History<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must have a degree (BA) from an accredited university and should have completed a minimum of 3-4 undergraduate courses (9-12 credits) in art history.<\/li>\n<li>GRE not required<\/li>\n<li>Minimum TOEFL\/IELTS scores: 577 (PBT), 90-91 (IBT) or 6.5<\/li>\n<li>Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended<\/li>\n<li>Resume\/CV<\/li>\n<li>Personal statement of approximately one page<\/li>\n<li>Writing sample (8-to-10-page art history research paper)<\/li>\n<li>Two letters of reference should include at least one from a professor who can attest to the quality of the student\u2019s academic work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Art history majors are preferred. Students are encouraged to visit the campus, speak with one of the MA program advisors, and sit in on a class.<\/p>\n<p>Application for admission is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/app.applyyourself.com\/AYApplicantLogin\/fl_ApplicantConnectLogin.asp?id=CUNYCCNYG\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">online<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Applications are accepted on a rolling basis up until deadlines of\u00a0<b>November 15<\/b>\u00a0to enter at the start of the spring semester and\u00a0<b>April 1<\/b>\u00a0to enter at the start of the fall semester.<\/p>\n<p>Tuition-based scholarships are awarded to the strongest applicants. Funding is limited, so applicants are encouraged to apply early.
