B.A. in Art Studio Option​

The BA Program in Art: Studio Option is a 42-credit curriculum that provides students with a solid foundation in studio art and art history. Art Majors who choose to focus on Studio Art will receive general instruction in the theory and practice of the visual arts through working in both two and three dimensions with a variety of media. Students are encouraged to pursue advanced courses in one or more of the following media: Ceramic Design; Electronic Design & Multimedia; Painting & Drawing; Photography; Printmaking; or Sculpture. This program option is both broad and focused, allowing students to build their curriculum with emphasis in specific areas after receiving foundational training.

  • 3 credits each | 9 credits total
  • ART 10000: Intro to the Visual Arts of the World (Core Credit)
  • ART 10100: 2D Design
  • ART 21000: Writing About Art (Core Credit)

  • 3 credits each | 3 credits total
  • ART 10600: Introduction to Sculpture
  • ART 10700: Introduction to Ceramic Design
  • ART 10800: Introduction to Wood Design
  • ART 10900: 3D Design
