We are very pleased to invite you to TIMELINES, an exhibition that combines interactive installations, performances and videos presented at the shared studio space of the Digital and Interdisciplinary Art Practice MFA Program (DIAP) at The City College of New York.
Shifting identities and relationships to time, space, and locality inform the works by this uniquely diverse group of eight artists. Self-representation and mimetic politics are mapped in a global digital society ¬– woman as: cyberfeminist, immigrant, physicist, victim, idealist, subject or object. These investigations are experimental and temporal in nature, yet solid in their commitment to take a personal stance on contemporary issues. The results, exemplifying the inherent juxtaposition of dissonances created by artwork evolving in a digital realm, are simultaneously evanescent and enduring.
